1920s Kitchen Refit With Gadgetry Galore
I had the chance to look round a 1920s bungalow that’s just been on the market. I haven’t been inside one like that since I last visited grand parents some decades ago. This place has been kept almost as it was built – as a luxury property it must be said. Unlike many a 1920’s semi detached, it didn’t start life with a tiny scullery kitchen the size of a broom cupboard. It certainly had more than a wooden draining board over a seriously unglamorous ceramic sink – so ugly it wouldn’t get the lady of the house going weak at the knees! This bungalow has just been sold to a developer who thankfully is not going to knock down and rebuilt – he’s going to extend the kitchen out, add vast bi fold patio door ‘wall’ and have fantastic gadgetry to run everything – there may even be some kitchen cabinets and drawers at some stage!
