Granny’s Old Furniture Brought Back To Life
I subscribe to a really good all round magazine. Have had it delivered for years and it covers health, beauty, money issues, food and cookery, crafting, knitting etc. and is famous for it’s home pages – with tips on how to dress a room properly and raise it’s value. Even if you have to use granny’s old dining set or a seriously old fashioned bedroom suite as a starting point, the soft furnishings are the way to minimise the old fashioned and frumpy aspects. Neat curtains, with perhaps a toning wooden window blind, in the same shade as the cushions or bed linens will bring a cordinated, designed look, rather than it remaining a hotch-potch of old unloved stuff. And looking after that old wooden furniture will pay dividends – if there’s no one to pass it on to after you’ve eventually bought new, it can be stripped and painted in bright colours and used in the garage, shed or playroom.
